My name is David Shannon and I am from Lexington, Kentucky.  I am sharing pictures I have taken at the Antioch Church Cemetery in Franklin County Kentucky.  This cemetery is located on Harvieland Road off of Highway 421 just outside of Frankfort.  My Great-Grandfather was Charles Christopher Shannon.  He was born January 21, 1868.  He was married to Lucy Preston Shannon.  (Lucy is buried in Lexington, KY at the Hillcrest Memorial Park).  He was buried in this cemetery May 12, 1928 after his death on May 10, 1928.    However, he was buried in an unmarked grave and his grave site is not exactly known.  I have struggled to find more information on "Charlie".  His death certificate indicates that he was born in Pennsylvania, but other records such as U.S. Census indicate that he was born in Indiana.  If you have information that may be helpful, please let me know.  I give permission to use and copy any of the information you may find helpful on this page. There may be mistakes!!  Please help me correct any that you find.

My purpose is 2-fold.  I hope if you are searching and find this site it is helpful to you...  And if you can provide more information of my family history, please contact me.

Above and below:  My father, Coleman Shannon of Lexington, as we survey the Antioch Cemetery.  Coleman was 7 years old when he attended the burial of his Grandfather, Charles Christopher Shannon.  Charles is buried at Antioch Cemetery, but his grave is not marked or known.
